Friday night for dinner Kaylie requested that we have shake-n-bake. I agreed. Before I got off the phone with her, she said, "Make sure you have apple sauce!"
My sister and I started our very own tradition years ago when we were just little girls. I don't recall exactly how it came about but we are huge fans of dipping out shake-n-bake (pork or chicken) in apple sauce.
I could not believe that I hadn't introduced Malachi to this yet. A matter of fact, I couldn't even remember the last time I did this my self. As we sat around the table Kaylie and I dished huge portions of apple sauce right next to our s-n-b, I then included Chi in the dishing. I also encouraged Herb and Heather to try it.
I watched Malachi every second as he stabbed the chicken with his fork, dipped, and in the mouth it went. I couldn't wait for his reaction. He had to LOVE it!
YYUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Was his response! YAY!! He loved it and couldn't get enough.
Herb and Heather even enjoyed it!
PS...
I had wonderful pictures of this entire process but they somehow got erased off of my camera. I was so sad and discouraged that it took me 5 days to finally write this blog. Figured I had fallen too far behind and the memory was worth the writing.

I think it's a great story even without the pictures!
And I am impressed that you went the entire post without a reference to Peter Brady and his immortal quote "pork chawps and appleshauce." Anyone? Anyone? Please? There has to be another Brady Bunch fan out there!!
I grew up HAVING to dip my pork chops in applesauce. I still HAVE to have it that way.
