Eventful T-Ball

I have found nothing more enjoyable than watching a bunch of 3-4 year olds run around and play t-ball. Malachi started practicing and playing t-ball in September. I was soooo excited for him to get involved with sports. I have been enviously watching friends scurry there little ones here and there for t-ball, basketball, and cheer leading.
I have to admit though, now... I'm a bit worn out. Sometimes I wake up on Saturday mornings to get ready for the 830am games and think to myself about how I just want to sleep in. But once I get a cup of coffee down and take my seat with the other moms, a bubbly joy fills me. Not to mention the many laughs I get in. Kids running the bases backwards, kids playing in the dirt instead of watching for the ball, and the occasional breakdowns are all very entertaining. Oh and of course the ultimate race to get the ball that results in a doggy pile and if we can help it, no injuries.

I can tell that Malachi is going to be very very very competitive. He has already comprehended that the majority of the hits are hit to the 2nd base position. So when they take the field that is exactly where Malachi positions himself. I have tried to explain that t-ball is a TEAM sport and that in turn means sharing and not running all the way over to the 3rd base position to get the ball when he's playing 2nd. It pretty much goes in one ear and out the other. He has two games left and of course they are 830am games. It's been a great deal of fun but I think Malachi and I could use a little break.

The National Youth Sports League (NYS) has sports going on all year long for 3 year olds and up. We have decided that we are going to wait until the spring and then give soccer a try. I can only imagine how that will be. I mostly look forward to the day he can start football! I love football!!
